A BURNLEY patient care group has welcomed the success of a campaign to make life easier for diabetics.
The Department of Health has announced that pen needles and re-usable pens for diabetics will be available on prescription for the first time from March 1.
Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Community Health Council chairman Frank Clifford: said "We are particularly pleased as we have supported the campaign to make these pen needles and re-usable pens available on prescription for over three years. At last the Department of Health has listened to the needs of diabetic patients." Anne Teague, chairman of the Burnley Pendle and Rossendale branch of the British Diabetic Association, said: "This is wonderful news."
