A GLITTERING event brought an extra sparkle to the East Lancashire Hospice Appeal.
Ribble Valley appeal organisers George and Edna Clarkson received a cheque for £4,175 at the Post House hotel, Clitheroe, raised through a bonfire spectacular firework display.
The event on Guy Fawkes night was a joint venture by the Rotary Clubs of Ribblesdale and Clitheroe, the Rotaract Club of Ribble Valley, Clitheroe Round Table, Clitheroe Lions' Club and Ribble Valley Borough Council.
About 5,000 people attended the display at Clitheroe Castle and all takings were given to the hospice's £1.3million appeal for better day care facilities at the Park Lee site, Blackburn.
If you want to help the appeal, call the East Lancashire Hospice Appeals Office on 01254 660900 or Amy Binns at the Lancashire Evening Telegraph on 01254 678678 ext 208.
