TELEVISION cameras were on hand to record a "Jolly" good fight back by the Royal Butterfly in the Burnley and District Sunday League.
In fact it was a Jolly, Jolly, Jolly, Jolly, Jolly, Jolly, fine effort by the second division team whose matches are like a weekend family outing.
In the Burnley pub team are two fathers and four sons from the same family. Their 4-3 win over Cloverbrook will be highlighted in the parks match section of Soccer Sunday on Granada on Sunday.
In the team are player manager Steve Jolly, 43, who plays in midfield, his two sons, Paul, 20, and Ian, 18, who both play at full-back, his brother Bryan, 42, a central defender, and his sons David, 20, midfield and Philip, 18, striker, who scored two of the goals.
Steve said: "It is like a family outing each week and good fun. We are not doing very well this season being second from bottom.
"So Sunday's win was more than welcome especially as we were two nil and then 3-1 down."
Caught on camera at Higher Towneley was a penalty miss by Steve after ten minutes.
Royal Butterfly goalkeeper Paul Stansfield was the team's hero making a penalty save in the last five minutes after the team had fought back level and then taken a 4-3 lead.
Steve has been playing in local leagues for nearly 30 years and for seven years was manager of the KSC 110 Club team.
