COLLEGE students on a fact finding mission had a guided tour of our head office in Blackburn, arranged through our Newspapers in Education project.

The group of first year students studying on a degree level course in Graphic Design at Blackburn College were given the low-down on newspaper graphics by staff in our editorial and advertising departments during their two-hour visit.

Lecturer John Flanagan said that visits to real workplaces were an invaluable element of the course and provided a fascinating insight into ways in which many different companies use graphics as a vital part of their business.

More general tours of newspaper production are available to pupils from KS2 upwards in any school or college which has ordered our NIE material for classroom use. For further details, please contact NIE coordinator Rita Shaw.
