A THIEF who stole baby clothing wanted it to clothe a friend's daughter, Burnley magistrates heard.
Lee Dale, 29, was concerned for the child's welfare because her mother was a heroin addict and the youngster was unclothed, his solicitor David Lawson told the court.
Dale, of Every Street, Brierfield, who himself has a drug problem and is already on probation, was given another six-month order.
The bench told him they were disappointed with him -and added: "Keep on the straight and narrow."
The defendant, who admitted theft, must also pay £65 costs.
