THE boss of a Blackburn removal company and two of his workers have appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with benefit fraud.

Sylvester Joseph Creane, 27, of Guernsey Avenue, boss of Intack Hire, is charged with three offences of aiding and abetting the obtaining of property by deception. Kevin Barry Lancaster, 28, of Delph Close, and Andrew John Singleton, 27, of Lower Hollin Bank Street, both face one charge of obtaining property by deception by failing to reveal that they were working at the same time as receiving benefits.

A third man, Darren George Croft, 24, of Devon Road, failed to appear before the court to answer the same charge and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
