BLACKBURN Rovers and England football legends Ronnie Clayton and Bryan Douglas were among a host of star guests at a special celebrity sports dinner held at Ewood Park.

Ronnie Clayton is renowned for his 36 England caps and captaining the country's under-23s for two years.

Bryan Douglas also holds 36 England caps and scored 115 goals during his career. Both were in the 1960 FA Cup runners-up team.

The duo were joined by fellow footballing heroes Joe Royle, Nat Lofthouse and Gordon Taylor, plus Lancashire and England cricketers Warren Hegg and Ian Austin to raise funds for the Prince's Trust and the Lancashire Partnership Against Crime.

More than 350 people attended the dinner, which was held in the Jack Walker stand's Premier Suite.

Conference and events manager Ros Wilkinson said: "The event was an outstanding success and we managed to raise almost £4,000 as well as furthering links with the Prince's Trust."
