Division One: Bolton Wanderers 3 Portsmouth 0
BOLTON took their blistering FA Cup form into the league as they demolished visiting Portsmouth at the Reebok last night, leap-frogging Rovers into ninth spot in Division One.
Veteran striker Bob Taylor opened the scoring 12 minutes in, powerfully heading home a pinpoint Michael Johansen free kick.
But the Wembley-bound Bolton faithful were forced to wait almost an hour until Wanderers found the net again.
It was well worth the wait though, when on 68 minutes Danish midfielder Claus Jensen neatly slotted the ball inside the left-hand post from 30 yards giving Pompey keeper Russell Hoult no chance.
Robbie Elliott rounded off a superb result for Sam Allardyce's men with a dazzling 20 yard run before scooping the ball over Hoult from close range, giving Wanderers their third home win on the bounce.
