FORMER Spurs midfielder Nicola Berti made his debut in Australia for Northern Spirit but found his game affected by a cricket square on the pitch.
The ex-Italy World Cup star admitted he was concerned about risking his knee on the hard area that had been a cricket wicket.
"I tried to concentrate on not going inside that area, but I play in the middle, so it was impossible for me not to go inside. It was a little bit dangerous," Berti said.
"Dangerous?" That might have been the case if Allan Donald was steaming in from one end.
Still, what do you expect an Italian to know about cricket?
Oops, sorry Joe (Scuderi)!
