BURNLEY Council today confirmed that a member of the town hall staff had been arrested and subsequently suspended from work.
Legal section worker Elizabeth Bolton, 44, of Palace Gardens, Burnley, has been charged with arson.
Burnley magistrates this week adjourned her case until March 6.
The town hall statement added: "It would not be appropriate for the council to comment further and the council is not in a position to release any further details."
