WHEN police were called to a chip shop they found a drunken man on the other side of the counter who refused to leave, a court heard.
Robin Knowles, of Hazel Avenue, Darwen, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Halliwell Road on February 19.
Bolton Magistrates court heard that Knowles, of previous good character, refused to return to the right side of the counter despite being asked by police several times.
In the end, his friends were about to take him home when he ran back towards the police with his arms waving about. He was then arrested.
Knowles was fined £75 and ordered to pay £50 court costs.
