MOTOR sports fans everywhere will be saddened if world Superbike champion, Blackburn's Carl Fogarty keeps to his threat to quit racing over a legal row over the merchandising of material linked to his name.
The case is complex, but the issue is simple: why should Foggy risk his neck on the race track when others he does not want to are making money out of his talent and fame?
If that situation is allowed to prevail, one could sympathise with his decision to quit. For why should he race in one of the most dangerous sports of all with parasitic opportunists on his pillion.
