WHO needs Ian Wright when you have a three-pronged strike force with more than 60 goals between.

And thankfully for Bacup St Mary's, all of them resisted the urge to head for Turf Moor to see the former England striker's goalless debut.

Craven probably could have done with forking out on three match day tickets for Andrew Grogan, Andrew Woods and young Jimmy Foster.

For two goals by Grogan took his season's total to 24 while Foster grabbed his 18th and 19th goals of the season.

Only 24-goal joint leading scorer Woods failed to make his mark - but that was mainly due to two good saves by Steve Dawson.

But in 16-year-old Foster, Bacup have a precocious young talent who seems capable of doing anything.

Foster grew in statue as the match wore on and if his first goal was a touch fortunate - a deflection off his thigh from David Allen's flick on - his second was a touch of class.

Receiving the ball just inside the area he swept in a wonderful volley that gave Dawson little chance.

It was Bacup's fifth goal that finally killed off a spirited and unlikely Craven comeback.

Craven had taken the lead in the first minute when Ryan Feber added the clinical finishing touch to a well worked move down the left.

But Bacup equalised soon after and we got a first glimpse of what Foster could do when his inswinging cross beat Dawson but hit the crossbar. However Grogan was alert to side foot home the rebound.

Alert would definitely not be the word to describe Dawson when Bacup took the lead. A long hopeful ball seemed to be rolling straight into the hands of the Craven keeper but he some how let it roll underneath him and Grogan accepted his easiest goal of the season.

It was a shame for the keeper who had earlier denied Foster with a good save. But for the remainder of the half Dawson looked decidedly edgy.

With that in mind, Craven's best form of defence was attack and they nearly grabbed an equaliser. First Bacup keeper Shaun Stansfield was alert to race out to deny Nick Elsworthy then Elsworthy picked up the lose ball and crossed to Feber who completely miss the ball.

Stansfield then produced an excellent one handed save at full stretch to keep out Stuart Knapper's 25-yard curling shot. After the break, Craven had two more chances to score but Stansfield denied both Feber and Knapper.

Bacup St Mary's then extended their lead in the cruelest of fashions as Allen's headed effort hit Foster on the thigh and went in. Cruel for Craven and cruel for Allen as Foster claimed the goal.

The industrious Lee Nuttall then got his name on the scoresheet but only after Dawson produced two excellent close range saves to deny Woods and then Allen. But it was third time lucky as Nuttall hammered home the loose ball.

It appeared to be all over then but Knapper pulled one back with a wonderful strike direct from a free kick then Elsworthy got the goal he deserved when he rounded of a flowing move that included Adam Clements and Feber.

But Foster saved his best until last to score that memorable volley.
