A TAKEOVER deal that will bring more work to a Burnley factory has been completed.
McLeod Russel Holdings - parent firm of Farrington Road based Interfilta - announced it was buying Vokes Filtration in a £8million deal earlier this month.
The deal has now gone through and over the next 18 months production will be transferred from Vokes' Henley Park site to the Burnley factory.
Although McLeod Russel has said it is too early to say what the jobs implications will be, the move is expected to see long term growth in the workforce in Burnley.
Vokes specialises in filters for purifying oil and fuels. It supplies the pharmaceutical industry and nuclear power stations.
"From initial industry feedback the merger seems to be viewed as a very positive development," said David Simpson, managing director of Interfilta."
Interfilta, which emplys 100 people, supplies filters for air conditioning systems for use in offices, hospitals and buildings, including the House of Commons.
