LEIGH took their chances. TYLDESLEY did not.
And that swung the weekend's big Rugby Union derby Leigh's way, the Sean Grainey Memorial Trophy returning to Hand Lane after a convincing 29-3 victory.
That scoreline could have been so different had Tyldesley taken their chances as they bombarded the home line.
Leigh, with great work from back rowers Travers, Whittle and David Bullough, put up a thundering defence.
They then ripped into attack with some efficient finishing for a nap hand of tries.
Mark Hudspith grabbed three of them, the first in a whirlwind first half as Leigh took total command.
Also on the try mark were Jim Bridge and Chris Whittle.
Tyldesley's only reward for a lot of effort was a solitary penalty.
Leigh U11s drew 12-12 with Littleborough, hitting back with tries from Adams and Thompson plus a Hammond goal.
The U13s won 39-10 at Orrell with Martin Glover scoring four tries ans two goals. Tries also for David Lloyd, Kyle Orrell and Stewart Pirrie. LEIGH RU face teams from Fleetwood on Saturday . . .
