THE terrifying night when a stick of German bombs hit the tightly-clustered terraced streets of Parr is recalled for us by Alan Miller of Ashurst Drive, Blackbrook.
And he names two men killed as being named Burke and Green, neighbours from Morgan Street. Alan himself was born in that street and recalls, as a kid, playing among the ruins of that bombing raid.
Anyone else got a St Helens-at-war tale to relate? I'd be grateful if you posted your recollections to me at the Star.
