I HAVE recently received a pamphlet entitled 'Focus' from the Liberals of the Moss Bank ward. In this they claim that their campaign has resulted in the council looking at road safety on the East Lancashire Road.
As the father of Brian, who was killed crossing this road, I would like to ask where were they when Merseyside Police held their detailed inquiry into his death? Where were these Liberal councillors when the inquest into Brian's death was held?"
The coroner requested that a transcript of the inquest, in which a police video was presented, should be sent to the St Helens Council with his comments on action to be taken. The St Helens Star has also published a number of articles on safety on this road. No comments from the Liberal councillors.
I believe these detailed and reasoned presentations have had more effect on the council than the supposed views of the Liberal councillors who have, as usual, come late to the campaign but wish for all the glory.
I don't really care who achieves increased safety on this road as long as it happens and no other parents have to endure what this family has.
