A GROUP of kind-hearted Lancashire people has raised £10,000 for the Christie Hospital in Manchester.
The group, known as FACT - Fighting Against Cancer Together - has members from Chorley and Preston and is led by chairman Joe Smith from Clayton-le-Woods.
They collected the cash by holding fund-raising events, selling Christie's merchandise and organising collections.
The Christie Hospital treats many people from Lancashire, particularly those with rare and more complex cancers.
The £10,000 was presented to Christie's regional appeals officer, Christine Blease, at FACT's annual general meeting.
The money will go to the £25million Christie's Against Cancer appeal, which aims to support research and development into cancer diagnosis.
