SPY in the sky camera packages costing more than £0.5million are focused on Tyldesley and Hindley.
The Home Office has passed the Hindley scheme and will give the go-ahead after minor adjustments to proposals for Tyldesley.
Next week Wigan's finance chiefs will vote on whether to outlay £153, 857 towards the cameras which will cost a further £20,000 a year to maintain.
The Government has agreed to stump-up £309,200 for the two towns' closed circuit television cameras and local traders have chipped-in a further £5,475.
The next CCTV schemes up for consderation are likely to include Hag Fold estate and Leigh town centre car parks.
