WORK has started on Atherton's £1m enterprise projects.
Seen here launching the first at the Ena Mill is Atherton Building Communities chairman and ribbon-cutter Cllr Sue Loudon watched by regeneration teamsters including local businessman Les Yates (right) who schemed that idea.
Three new 'enterprise centres' have been designed to cater for the needs of new or expanding firms at Flapper Fold Lane, Bag Lane and Dorset Road. They have attracted £800,000 in government and Euro funding plus private investment taking the total to over the £1m mark.
Projects have been supported by ABC and Wigan Council who hope the schemes will boost employment opportunities.
