A FASHION exhibition by a Leigh woman's top designer uncle has been extended.

Over 17,000 visitors have viewed Ossie Clark - Fashion Designer 1942-96 A Retrospective, which has run for three months at his home town Warrington Museum and Art Gallery.

Sixties and seventies trendsetter Ossie was the famous relative of sculptress Margaret Clementson, who helped to mount the show.

The first exhibition since his death it is to be re-launched on Friday and will run until April 29.

Margaret, of Berkeley Close, tells of how one of Britain's most flambuoyant designers used to turn heads in Leigh when he stayed at her home, and was at Manchester Art College with lots of local people before moving to London.

Margaret said: "Anyone who loves fashion and has not yet seen the show should go along. It is stunning."

The gallery is open Monday to Friday 10am to 5.30pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm.
