ANNOYED MU fan Michael Fairhurst, of Atherton, has written:
I note that once again Lesley Richards feels it necessary to have a dig at someone connected with Manchester United Football Club, namely David Beckham for wearing gloves.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but is Beckham the only player to do this? At least he doesn't wear a hairband like Patrick Berger of Liverpool with whom Ms Richard's allegiance is, it seems, as far as football is concerned.
In the past she has a go at the fans, Ferguson and Beckham more than once. Get a life, Lesley, instead of jumping on the bandwaggon to knock the biggest, the best and most successful English club of the last decade.
Les says: Sorry, Michael, but you're wrong. I don't support any team. In fact I can't stand professional football.
However, I was in the room while Soccer Sunday was on TV this week and viewed the best comedy I've seen for ages.
As well as the pro rubbish, the programme covered a real small time game between Little Hulton CC and Hare and Hounds, panning the speccies and interviewing the manager.
In the crowd was an Elvis impersonator, a crying toddler under a tree and a face ache beer swilling twosome.
One rubbish goalie interviewed blamed tampering with his gloves on his poor show, and the manager said he would have to see the boss to get 10 bob for a new player.
Hilarious. More of this please, and I could easily become an amateur fan.
