MORE than 100 jobs could be created in Blackpool when discount retail firm Wilkinson open a new town centre store.
The company is planning to move into the former Kwik Save store in Dickson Road, creating around 130 new jobs.
Doors to the new premises, which is set to be the biggest Wilkinson store in the country, will open at the end of March.
It will be the company's third Lancashire-based store, adding to two existing shops in Lancaster and Preston and is part of an expansion plan to create around 250 stores nationwide over the next three years.
As well as stocking a range of confectionery and garden equipment, the new shop will house a complete range of household products and clothing items.
The major re-development will also comprise of a secure, multi-storey car park to the back of the site with around 500 spaces, which will be covered by CCTV cameras.
Store manager Garry Mizon said: "Blackpool will be a flagship store for Wilkinson, offering a full range of more than 25,000 everyday products for the home and garden."
