BLACKPOOL Victoria Hospital has given a chorus of approval to a choir who are donating vital medical equipment.
Blackpool Male Voice Choir has raised money for much needed monitoring equipment for outpatient cancer sufferers.
The six oncology pumps regulate the doses of medication to serious cancer sufferers, allowing them to leave hospital, therefore freeing vital beds for other patients.
The past year has seen the choir raise nearly £2,000 for various causes and has also seen the purchase of a bed allowing parents to sleep alongside their sick children in the hospital.
Les Malkinson, solo baritone with the choir, said: "These pumps are at the forefront of the treatment of cancer.
"Not only does it free up the bed, it also frees the patient by allowing them to go home."
The choir is in demand around the region and performs between 30 and 40 times a year, always with a charitable cause in mind.
They are currently rehearsing for their "Grand Millennium Concert" on May 27 at Lowther Pavilion, Lytham, raising money for the MacMillan Windmill Appeal.
