A FORMER table tennis stalwart who played in the local league when it was founded in 1928, and later became a vice-president, has died aged 83.
Mr James Greenall, of North Road, passed away in St. Helens Hospital on Tuesday after being ill for several months.
Popularly known as Jim, he was a member of the renowned Lowe House team of pre-war days, alongside other stars such as Sid Mees, Tom Gardner and George Ainsworth.
