BURY-based businesses wishing to get ahead in international trade can take advantage of an opportunity to lunch with an export "guru."
For Sir David Wright, chief executive of British Trade International, will be at Bolton's Reebok Stadium next Thursday (March 2) as special guest of Bolton and Bury Chamber's Export Club.
Sir David will explain how British Trade International has brought together the work of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Department of Trade and Industry into one super organisation, dedicated to supporting British trade and investment overseas.
He will outline the many ways in which the 2,000-strong world wide team can help North West businesses grow their companies in the international arena, but most importantly he will be listening to local business people's views of what they want from the new organisation. During the day, he will also be visiting international traders in Bury and Bolton to gain a more detailed understanding of the go ahead local export scene.
Julian Birchett, head of international trade for Bolton and Bury Chamber, said: "It is a great privilege to welcome Sir David to Bolton and Bury.
"Our Business Link team is playing an instrumental role in shaping British Trade International's local delivery policy and this is a fantastic opportunity for local companies to join us in helping to create a business friendly service that will be invaluable to them in their international trade endeavours."
Places at the lunch, sponsored by Government Office North West, are available free to local companies involved in or entering into international trade.
Tickets are available from Neal Massey at Business Link on (0161) 762 3316.
