WEST Brom boss Brian Little felt Rovers were there for the taking at Ewood on Saturday and better First Division sides than his own would have gone on to win.
That was his biggest regret, that West Brom did not make the most of their 1-0 lead and allowed Rovers to escape to victory with two late goals.
"I thought Blackburn were very nervy, on edge and not playing especially well. I think we should have won the game, not just drawn it," said Little.
"Whether they were better than us or not is not the issue, I genuinely think we should have won the game.
"We needed to go to 2-0 to win.
"You had a home crowd that wasn't really enjoying it and, even not being in a great position at the moment, I think we should have taken advantage of the day and the situation, and looked a little bit brighter - as if we believed we could have won.
"At 1-0 up, there are quite a few teams in our league who would have taken it on and won here.
"We should have been livelier and a little bit brighter.
"The body language suggested going into the game that we might not have felt we were going to win and yet if they had been just that little bit more determined they might well have done so.
Little was also bitterly disappointed with the kind of goals West Brom conceded.
"It's disappointing to lose goals from the two balls in the box really.
"We went to sleep.
"For 70 minutes, it wasn't great but it was very disappointing we couldn't see it through."
