LANCASHIRE Lynx slipped to yet another defeat against in-form Featherstone Rovers in a game played in dreadful conditions at Victory Park. The scoreline does not do justice to the effort and commitment shown by Lynx throughout the 80 minutes especially with the squad's three 17-year-olds in it.

After the game coach Steve Hampson said: I was struggling to get a squad on the park with injuries to Dave Jones and Neil Alexander and the loss of Neil Roden and Phil Farrell back to Wigan, I had to field three 17-year-olds - Chris Ramsdale, Jason Roden and David Cayzer - and they all adapted well to the conditions, especially Chris Ramsdale. I also had to call on veteran Carl Briscoe from Wigan St Patricks to help out.

"I was pleased with the performance and commitment shown and the scoreline does not do the team justice, but once again we were caught cold in the first 20 minutes and this cost us the game.
