TWO budding music experts are hoping for a share of the limelight after being selected for an audition to appear on Michael Barrymore's My Kind of Music.

Lancashire Evening Telegraph telesales executives Chris Deeham, 32, of Juno Street, Nelson, and Paula Walsh, 25, of Thompson Street, Darwen, were surprised when they got a telephone call about the good news.

The show, which is screened on Friday nights on Granada, is a pop music quiz where three pairs of contestants compete against each other for the chance to win a £13,000 jackpot, as well as getting the chance to sing a number of their choice.

Chris and Paula have been invited for an audition in Manchester on March 23, with a chance to appear on the popular TV show.

Chris said: "We just decided to give the number a ring for a bit of a laugh really. I'll have to gen up on my music knowledge before the audition."

Paula said: "We're dead excited, and the audition should be a really good day. I will be singing to a backing tape and we'll both be interviewed about our music knowledge."
