A CLITHEROE woman is promoting complementary health therapies in the UK by starring in a range of information videos.

Lynn Askew (pictured), senior lecturer and regional examiner in complementary therapies, features in a series of seven colour videos which show close-up demonstrations of massage, aromatherapy and reflexology.

Mother of four Lynn, of Hawthorne Place, said: "While some of the videos will be used exclusively as training back-up for student therapists, others are designed to have a more general appeal and are useful for anyone who wishes to know how to carry out complementary therapy skills without having to attend formal training.

"We borrowed two babies for a day's filming so among the videos that fall into this category is one on baby massage, which I think many mums will appreciate. Babies find massage very soothing and comforting. It also helps with the bonding process."

The videos were shot over a week-long period at the School of Complementary Health Studies and Beauty Therapy Science in Cow Lane, Burnley, where Lynn works as a consultant and lecturer.

Students acted as models for Lynn and the videos were filmed in real time so each one realistically portrays a typical therapy session.

Lynn added: "Already there has been such an incredibly positive response to the videos, I understand more titles such as Indian head massage, sports massage, Feng Shui massage and human nutrition among others are planned."
