COUNCILLORS in Burnley will tonight be asked to approve a council tax increase of 5.3 per cent.
The total tax for Band D houses will remain just under the £1,000 mark at £998.05.
The Burnley element is £167.10 compared to the Lancashire County Council charge of £769.35 and the contribution to the police authority of £62.60.
A report to tonight's meeting of the policy and resources committee shows Burnley's budget figure next year to be £13,211,383 (before grants and national pool sums totalling £8,775,734 leave the net figure of £4,435,649).
If the budget is approved the total fax figures for the different bands are: Band A: £665.36. Band B: £776.27. Band C: £887.15. Band D: £998.05. Band E: £1,219.83. Band F: £1,441.63. Band G: £1,663.41. Band H: £1,996.10.
