MEMBERS of the Hyndburn branch of the Lancashire Family History and Heraldry Society were on hand to help visitors at Accrington Library trace their family tree.
The group set up special computer programmes in the library's reference department to help people trace ancestors and long-lost relatives as part of the Family History Day.
And there was a surprise for Joyce Lee (pictured) when she discovered she is related to the Lord Mayor of London of 1627, Sir Hugh Homersley
Pat Sullivan, chairman of the Hyndburn group, said: "We had lots of people coming along to find out about their families, so it is obviously a topic that they find interesting.
"We helped one person trace their great great grandfather from just an envelope of old certificates, which was great."
Pictured is Joyce Lee, who discovered she is related to the Lord Mayor of London, of 1627, Sir Hugh Homersley.
