THE site of a Millennium Green in Colne will be spring cleaned by local people.
Land between Shaw Street and Colne Water, Waterside, will become a major landmark in the area with an open-air stage and landscaped areas.
The clean-up will take place on Saturday and along with tree-planting and a general tidy up, a site will be prepared for wild flower seed sowing by pupils from Gibfield and West Street schools, Colne, next week.
Volunteers are welcome to join members of the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers on the site from 10am. Those taking part must be over 16 years old and wear suitable clothing, including gloves if possible. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
