BY his words shall MR L Lawes (Letters, February 8) be judged.
He revealed what came out of his heart and admitted his dark deep shameful secret, that he is an atheist.
There is a verse in the Bible that says: "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God."
Mr Lawes has nothing to back up his claims or beliefs, nor has he any proof that there is no God. True Christians do not impose their beliefs on others. Man is free to choose (or supposed to be) just as Mr Lawes is.
But God has ordained that the Gospel of Good News should be preached to the whole world. Why? Because the world is condemned and under the impending wrath and judgment of God, as stated in the Bible.
That is why Jesus Christ is called the Saviour of the world. Hence that famous verse: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."
Furthermore, true Christians are regarded as sheep-like and Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd whom we obey and follow. Whoever heard of sheep-like Christians waging war on the world?
However, we are told to beware of wolves in sheep's clothing. It is those false so-called Christians who cause problems and mislead many.
No, the ones who force and impose their views, policies and beliefs, are the Government, local authorities and politicians, often against our will and wishes.
With God, people know where they stand, because He never breaks His promises, nor does He change His mind.
The question I want to ask people like Mr Lawes is: What's so horrible about God that you can't believe in Him? God is love and desires to give you His gift of eternal life in His Son, Jesus Christ.
K MILLS (Mr), Glenfield Close, Blackburn.
