A BURNLEY mum is to take part in this year's London marathon.
Sue Green, post office supervisor at Burnley General Hospital, reckons that her job delivering mail up and down the wards every day is a very good way to get in shape. The marathon takes place on April 16 and Sue is training. She is running 20 miles in just under three hours. She will be raising money for two local charities: Burnley Youth Theatre and Hospice Care for Burnley and Pendle.
Sue, who is mum to Sarah-Jayne, 11, and Michael, 13, is attempting the marathon for the first time.
She says: "I am delighted that my personal challenge to complete the London marathon can also help raise funds for the good work performed by the two local charities."
She is challenging sponsors to guess how long it will take her to complete the marathon.
The person with the nearest prediction will get tickets for Burnley Youth Theatre's millennium festival at Hurstwood reservoir.
