JEANS tycoon Shami Ahmed 's midas touch has helped him make a fortune of more than £30million on the stock market.

The former Burnley schooboy has floated a new company to invest in internet companies.

And on its first day shares in Legendary Investments had soared by a staggering 700 per cent in opening trading.

Shares were sold for 2p to financial institutions, but the shares rose to 16.25p - valuing the company at £79million, of which Shami owns almost half

But Shami has stressed that he has no plans to sell shares in the company which will invest in internet start-up businesses.

The 37-year-old entrepreneur - rumoured to be worth close to £100million - attended Barden High School before leaving to join the family fashion firm. He later set up his Joe Bloggs empire in Manchester and now lives in Cheshire.
