THE case against a former Burnley takeaway owner charged with 18 counts of breaking food hygiene regulations has been adjourned until the end of the month.
Mohammed Iqbal, 47, of Montague Street, Brierfield, is accused of contravening the Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995 at the Moonlight Takeaway, Croft Street, last June.
The takeaway has since changed hands and has a new owner.
Mr Iqbal appeared at Reedley Magistrates Court yesterday. The court was told his solicitor Sajjad Karim had applied for an adjournment until March 29. The application was agreed by the magistrates.
The prosecution was brought by Burnley Council.
