TWO well-groomed members of Blackburn-based brewery Daniel Thwaites have galloped away with a top prize at a national event.
Shire horses Regal and Classic were named best in the brewery class at the National Shire Horse Show in Peterborough, addign yet another trophy to their extensive silverware collection.
The pair, who can usually be spotted pulling the Thwaites' dray, also scooped third place in the competition overall.
Thwaites' head groomsman Charles Beardmore said: "We are absolutely delighted and very very proud. We have been exhibiting at Peterborough for 40 years but we haven't managed to get first prize since 1990.
"The fact Classic and Regal are working horses makes the achievement all the greater."
The horses' collection includes top prize from the Royal Lancashire Show last year and awards from shows in Malton and Lancaster.
