REEDER by name, and reader by nature, that's Whitbread's winning employee's catchline.
Josephine Reeder, from Barton, was given £200 through the company's Community Programme which rewards staff who are actively involved in the community.
Josephine, a quality manager at the Lea Gate Beefeater and Travel Inn, was awarded for her work with Harris Primary School, in Ingol, where she helps pupils practice their reading skills.
Mum-of-two Josephine said: "I began helping out at the school when my daughter Sammi started there three-and-a-half years ago.
"On average, I spend around 16 hours a month at the school, helping pupils practice their reading and maths skills and assisting with art projects.
"I really enjoy visiting the school and spending time with the youngsters."
The money will be used to buy new books for the school.
A spokesman for the school said: "Josephine plays an important role in the school and, together with other parent helpers, is highly valued by both teaching staff and pupils."
