FURTHER to the correspondence regarding the Riverside Park from Halton to Caton.
It would appear that although April Fools' Day, for most people is past, our city fathers are perpetuating the date.
Upside-down trees are an aberration of nature.
A well-surfaced roadway can no longer support a host of wild flowers, but it can provide a ready-made track for cyclists and others for whom speed is the ultimate goal.
Maybe the upside-down trees will provide crash-barriers to protect the disheartened pedestrians who still desire a peaceful country walk.
Indubitably the yellow and black arches will deter double-decker buses and other high-sided vehicles from joining the fray.
