I WAS heartened by the response of so many readers to my views on the proposed 'Art Works' along the River Lune footpath/cycle way.
However I am also despondent because it seems that despite the numbers who share my view the damage to the area is inevitably going to continue.
The 'Artist' Giles Kent is already at work on his tasteless project busily hacking away at the roots of the trees with a pick axe to remove all traces of soil and roots that offend his artistic eye.
Is there no one in authority who cares as we do? Come on councillors. I am sure many of you must agree with the views expressed by Citizen readers.
We elected you to represent us and as the overwhelming feelings of the people I have spoken to are opposed to the so called improvements I suggest that you use the power that we the electorate gave you to stop this madness before more damage is done.
Don't let our river bank become an environmental disaster.
