MUSIC master Allan Ackers is tuning-up for the Flora London Marathon to help the fight against leukaemia.
The Golborne High head of music runs the streets of London on April 16 to raise money for the Leukaemia Research Fund.
Allan is supporting the only national charity which is devoted to research in to leukaemia and other blood disorders.
Significantly his wife was successfully treated for the disorder and two ex-Golborne High pupils were also sufferers, one of whom tragically died.
Allan says: "Not only will this be a personal achievement, but I feel I am helping present and future leukaemia sufferers."
The school is staging other fund-raising activities in support. Anyone who would like to back Allan should ring 01942 214337.
