I SEE the council is looking to make Preston more people friendly.
Excuse me? Where are the plans to dismantle the town and start all over again?
With a ring road that goes through the centre of town, bus station and train station at opposite ends of the town, and a ridiculous one-way system around the back streets, just how does the council feel it can be made people-friendly? It's as difficult to get into or out of town as it is to park in the place.
The main shopping street has buses hurtling down it at top speed and anyone walking down the pavement with a pram can relax in the knowledge that they are blocking the pavement. From beggars and 'buskers' sitting down.
£300 million project? We need more than £1 billion.
