HOWE Bridge Tenants and Residents Association's AGM will 'plan the future of the area for the good of everyone'.
All residents of the Howe Bridge area are welcome to attend this open meeting (starting 8pm next Thursday April 13) in the scout hut on Leigh Road, which will be attended by local ward councillors.
One of the items which may be discussed is the possibility of finding money under the SRB 5 grant regime for development work at Atherton's Central Park.
Atherton councillor Sue Loudon said: "I am really thrilled to see the way Howe Bridge residents are showing such willingness and enthusiasm for taking ownership of their own environment. "The council can only do so much for communities without leadership and guidance from those communities about what residents want.
"We had a very successful Risk Management meeting in the area last week which demonstrated the community spirit which I am confident will be a mark of the forthcoming AGM."
