A YOUNG enterprise company has been sowing the seeds for a very special project this week.
"Clodhoppers", from St Mary's Catholic High School in Blackpool, decided to create a special millennium garden to enhance the school environment and make pupils more aware of the importance of their environment.
Martina McCormack, head of business studies at the school, said the garden was the latest project for the enterprise team.
"Each year a different team comes up with an idea to gain skills in business, marketing and management and this year they decided to do something slightly different," she said.
"The millennium garden has been designed by younger pupils at the school but about 20 sixth formers did most of the physical work."
Local garden centre Baguleys supervised the planting of some 56 trees, many of which have been "bought" by pupils, staff, families and friends.
Martina added: "We are hoping to get sponsorship next year to enhance the garden because we feel it is a worthwhile experience for all those who get involved."
