A GROUP of post office workers from St Helens will be among a 2,000 strong deputation from across the country who will be lobbying the Houses of Parliament next Wednesday, April 12 to coincide with the Prime Minister's Question Time.
The squad is protesting against the Government's proposals to transfer people's benefits directly into their bank accounts instead of to post offices and are claiming that this move could result in the closure of thousands of smaller post offices.
The local group, which also incorporates Liverpool, Warrington and Widnes representatives, is setting out from the Memphis Belle in Warrington at 7am.
