A FAMILY of budding cycle stars have made a flying start to the new season.
Brothers Rob Pugh, aged 14, Ian Pugh,11, from Sherdley Park, and their 12-year-old cousin Chris Noonan, from Rainford are team-mates at Liverpool Century Cycling Club.
And on Saturday they helped their team age groups to success in the Southport Flower Show race series - one of the biggest events in the North West.
The competition is held over three weeks and was a particular triumph for debutant Ian.
In the first week Ian was second, but the second two weeks saw him claim the yellow jersey both times.
Rob sped to an eighth, 10th and sixth, while Chris finished seventh, sixth and fifth.
