DR Ruth Henig has been appointed to an influential Government body.
Dr Henig, who chairs the Lancashire Police Authority and the Lancaster and Morecambe Community Safety Partnership, is now a member of the newly established Crime Reduction Task Force. Its role will be to provide a clear strategic focus and practical guidance for the local community safety partnerships.
Dr Henig said: "This appointment has provided me with a tremendous opportunity to contribute to the drawing up of national guidance and good practice manuals for local partnerships."
