ELDERLY residents in Parr are being invited to take part in the oriental art of Tai Chi which guards against stress and encourages relaxation.
Classes are being organised by Neil Davies, who works in health promotion at St Helens Council and Pat Dunn, of St Helens Martial Arts, who are teaming up with residents of Burrows Court sheltered housing and Ashtons Green Home to highlight the advantages of Tai Chi in improving breathing, posture and promoting a feeling of well-being.
Part of a new awareness programme, funded by Parr Single Regeneration Budget to bring health enhancing activities to all members of the community in the area, Tai Chi is just one of many activities being looked at to involve the whole community including swimming, health walks, exercise to music and line dancing.
Further details are available from Neil on St Helens 456468.
