WELFARE assistant Mrs Lorna Davies said farewell to pupils and staff at Sunny Bank CP School where she has been working for more than 30 years.
Mrs Davies of Bury, began working as a dinner lady at the school in 1970 and has worked through 6,000 lunchtimes in her 30 years at the school.
"I have had such a wonderful time at the school. I have made so many friends over the years I have never felt like I was going to work because it was such a pleasure."
She added: "I will certainly keep in touch with the school and regularly visit the staff and pupils."
Headteacher, Mr Michael Green, paid tribute to Mrs Davies, who is pictured with some of the pupils at her farewell.
"She has been with the school for many years and has done a tremendous job. the children love her and look up to her and she has made many friends with the staff. We shall miss her very much."
